Just a thought...
In these times when it seems
like there is no end
to the ever increasing
government intrusion
in our lives,
please always remember and
don't ever forget:
Government works for you.
You do not work for Government.

Unless you have been living under a rock, you couldn't help but notice that the race to be the next President has been heating up. Before you know it this glorious summer that has just gotten started will give way to fall and soon enough the Iowa Caucus will be here. Take a second and let us know who you would like to see running for President in 2008. We will post the results after the polls close that night, wouldn't want to affect the outcome!!
Saturday April 7th was one of the coldest days for an Easter Egg hunt ever. The wind was blowing briskly from a northern direction, but someone let the word out that there would be free candy and the kids showed up in droves with reluctant parents in tow. It was a rather festive event considering the weather, complete with a smiling Easter Bunny. Fun was had by everyone and there was plenty of candy to go around. Thanks to the Lions for sponsoring the event. Check ou the Gallery for pictures of the event.
The Dexter Museum has announced it's Summer Schedule. Beginning on May 5th and running through September 29th the Museum will be open from 9am-12am. Stop in and see how things have changed. There have been a couple of additions to the collection over the winter and some new items have been pulled out of the closet. As always, it is open by appointment. See the Museum page for details.
If you haven't heard already Punxsutawney Phil is predicting an early spring. www.groundhog.org Based on the weather we've been having lately and what is predicted for the days ahead, this is good news for all but the most loyal of winter lovers. Have you noticed the geese flying around lately? I can't decide if they are starting back north early or late heading south. Personally, I can't wait for the first robin of spring to show up.
Listening to the radio the other day, I heard a very interesting statistic. Forty percent of men will spend more time making Super Bowl plans than Valentine's Day plans. Of course, being married for some unknown (ask my wife) number of years, this made me laugh, because earlier that day I was trying to decide how best to enjoy the Super Bowl and had put some considerable thought into it. So I'm adviding you now. Don't be a statistic! There is only 10 days till Valentine's Day. If you spend just a couple of minuets a day between now and then cooking something up for that special person in your life your efforts my pay 10 fold in the end. Good Luck!!
