CITY OF DEXTER
COUNCIL MEETING
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 16TH 2009
7:45 P.M.
The Council met in special session. Councilman Schirm called the roll call. Council members present: Bob Schirm, Mel Stodden, Steve Feller, Jerry Clark and Gregg Wahman (8:00) Absent: Mayor Stiles.
Motion: The city will rent out the Roundhouse for $150.00 per day, with a $50.00 refundable deposit. Councilman Wahman moved to approve and Clark seconded. Discussion: The city will now rent out this bldg and deposit to be refunded when clerk checks that bldg is clean and key is returned. Roll Call Ayes: Stodden, Schirm, Wahman, Feller and Clark. Nays: None. Motion passed 5-0.
Motion: To sell the Round House bldg and ground by sealed bids to be received no later than 3:00pm on June 1st 2009 and to also bring out individual to check out the viability or turning the building into a library, museum and community center. Councilman Wahman moved to approve and Schirm seconded. Discussion: The city does not want to levy for the loan payments and it has no other way to make the payments. They do not want to have this discussion for the next 9 years. Minumum bid would need to be at least $125,000 to pay loan. Roll Call Ayes: Stodden, Schirm, Wahman and Clark. Nays: Feller. Motion passed 4-1.
Motion: To approve 2009-2010 budget for publication and to have Public Hearing March 9th 2009 at 7:00pm. Feller moved to approve. Wahman seconded. Roll Call Ayes: Mel Stodden, Gregg Wahman, Steve Feller and Jerry Clark. Nays Bob Schirm, Motion passed 4-1.
Motion: Kevin to change the locks at the Roundhouse February 17th 2009. Councilman Clark move to approve and Wahman seconded. Discussion: No keys are to be given out. City employee will be/stay at building before anyone enters the building. Roll Call Ayes: Stodden, Schirm, Wahman, Feller and Clark. Nays: Motion passed 5-0
At this time Mayor Pro Tem Wahman asked for a motion to adjourn. Councilmand Clark moved to adjourn. Councilman Stodden seconded. All ayes. Motion carried 5-0.
