Consider this quote from Abe Lincoln

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

How about we keep it short and sweet with some random thoughts…

  1. It’s always hard to adjust to time changes. However, I cannot for the life of me understand why my body wants me to wake up at what the clock shows as 4:30 in the morning when it’s really 3:30.
  2. For those of you who followed last week’s adventure of the stranded trio from the snow storm I have a report. One of the gentlemen, who was driving a Land Cruiser, spun out late on Friday and spent the night in a motel in Creston. The other two driving old beat up Toyota’s made it safely into Omaha.
  3. Some days there aren’t really words to express how you feel, but a hug makes up for that.
  4. Attended some continuing education for EMS this last weekend. Very interesting to see what is new in EMS and I managed to stay awake through almost all of the classes. One new item is a manual compression device for CPR. Interesting indeed, but may be a while before we see them in the working world.
  5. Only a couple of weeks away from another bond vote in the West Central Valley School district. It will be interesting to see the outcome.
  6. Snow? The only way I remember snow is from the huge mud puddles forming in my driveway. Drove out south of town the other day and noticed it looked like in a number of places that roads were pretty well drifted shut. Any guess on when the last of the snow will melt?
  7. And finally this week. Just a friendly reminder to check the batteries in your smoke detectors. A minute of your time could save the life of someone very important.

See you next week…Remember, we’re all in this together.
