Consider this quote from Abe Lincoln

"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

April showers bring mud tracked through the kitchen….much like the random thoughts that track through my mind.

  1. Why should I feel compelled to keep up with the Kardashian’s? And is it even anything resembling quality television?

  2. Is it too early to set my house plant out? I’m a little concerned that it is still a little cool at night, but I’m sad I’ve been missing out on all the free watering.

  3. I was cleaning out the refrigerator the other day and found another one of those cans of pineapple soda pop clear in the back. In case I didn’t mention this before…what was I thinking? I like pineapple, but not the soda.

  4. I found that spending an exceptionally long time in bed on April 1st was an effective guard against being fooled.

  5. One of the great things about this time of the year is the fact that the local dairy shops are opening back up. I’ve really been craving a good root beer slush whip lately.

  6. I used to really enjoy watching the news every night. Lately though, I find it much better on my emotional health to ignore that there is even a nightly news. It’s somewhat depressing to be quite honest.

  7. I’ve been through the house attempting to find the match to the other four black socks that I found while conducting the annual sock drawer clean out. The entire thing seems somewhat futile.

  8. Finally this week…I drove to Des Moines the other day and it was the first time I had been past the fire scene at DeSoto in a few weeks. The lush new green growth is a good reminder for all of us that sometimes we need to burn off the old growth, the things in our lives that color us brown. Life is a constant rebirth and regrowth, and it’s important not to forget that. See you next week…remember, we’re all in this together.
